Another Brand New Year.

Happy newyear all.

Hopefuly this year proves to be a productive and prospours year for us all.

I was thinking earlier this week. We are a extreamly short sighted society. This being the source of many problems. Too many companies and goverments are part of the cause...

Tomorrow I will slosh my way to work in whats left of the snow that coverd Eugene thismorning. My shoes are not snow worthy. It is time for new shoes. I think it's time for a hair cut as well.

I bought the first and second seasons of Futurama on DVD last night with some of my Xmas money. Now I can delete the episodes that I now own on DVD.

What are your new year resolutions?
I don't know what mine are. But why not make resolutions for each week or month and make them last a life time. Chris came to hang out last night. That was cool Kala also called to wish a happy new year. That was good stuff too....

Happy New Year to you, too. Sorry my phone cut out, but it was nice to hear your voice all the same. I hope you had fun.

My resolutions:
01) Throw a get-together monthly.
02) Do a monthly junk purging from Ern and my house.
03) Join a gym. Not for losing weight, just cause I love the gym and I miss my membership.
04) Take things a bit easier.
05) Spend more time outdoors, at least two afternoons a month. It's never enough.
06) Be a better listener.
07) Keep at least weekly correspondence with my friends.
08) Spend a piece of my summer on an island in the sun. It's good for my mental health.
09) Write more, whenever it comes to mind.
10) Make afternoon naps a staple in my life.
11) Walk the fine line between saying what I really mean and keeping people's feelings in mind.
12) Walking the bodhisattva path: patience, charity, and eradication of hate.

What did you mean about this nation being short-sighted? Not that I disagree, I'm just curious about your perspective...

I love you,
Kala

With certain stupid laws such as the DMCA getting passed. and the RIAA bringing litigation every shumck who downloads a mp3 from j-lo.

the DMCA is a law to protect big companys from the little guy. and do no good for us poor end users/consumors. Passed by political types who are backed by big money companys.

RIAA they turn out crapy music for years and years then their sales go down down and they blame the internet. I've seen the arguments on both sides and profit charts vs new arttist/and cds released in a yaer. guess what less new artists and cds less profit. If i download something i like i buy it. RIAA thinks low profits lets sue some people so we make some profits and look stupid in the process.

Many companys releasing substandard products or not properly testing products prior to relase to make a releaes date or to get the product to market for the money. Or not building features into things that will allow for expandablity later on.

I blame it mostly on america's culture of rush rush rush and greed greed greed. Not that other cultures and countrys are with out problems I'm just sick of our sick culture. We are one of the least travled countrys in the world. We also happen to be a lazy nation in comparison to the rest of the world. I wonder could this becuase we are always working and don't get the good opertunitys to travle like many workers in Germany, Austraila and Canada do?

I'm gonna stop ranting now.

Made perfect sense, which is why I plan on moving to Costa Rica someday. They walked out of the NAFTA talks. Walked the hell out. I love it.
