Geeking the evening away.

So a while back I setup a nifty little mp3 downsampler that made streaming mp3s take less bandwidth for Chris and I on the server that lives with him (Honey Ryder). It helps prevent so much buffering, and allows more than one person to listen at a time if such a thing happens which used to happen quite a bit...

Well Chris told me that it wasn't working recently. I checked it wasn't. I poked and prodded some, still didn't work. I couldn't think of any upgrades or config changes I had made recently to break it. I tried it with and with out a proxy server. I contacted the developer. Called Chris had him try it locally with no proxy or anything other than a switch between him and the box, didn't work.

Today I decided to setup a machine (a virtual machine) with the same OS as the problem server and try to do it. Well it worked flawlessly on the 1st attempt. So I replaced the configuration files on the server that lives with Chris with the ones from my fresh one and it started to work. After making a couple minor changes to the new config files and more testing all is still working.

I win.
