Vista Launched

Microsoft's newest OS was let lose upon the world today.

I'm not sure I'm going to adopt it any time soon. I've never been an early adopter to the latest versions of windows. I waited as long as possible to get off of 3.1 to 95 and held on to 95 until sometime in 99 and held on to 98se until sometime in 2000 or 2001 and windows 2000 until 2003 or 4 if i recall. I have considered making a total switch to Linux and keeping a virtual machine of windows XP around for those must use windows times. I don't think the switch would be too hard to make. I had gone a few weeks in spring 2000 with just using Linux on my home box and things have improved leaps and bounds since then.

If I could afford it I'd consider going mac.

I'm pretty curious to try Vista. This whole "Aero" business sounds pretty sweet. But beyond that from what I've read it's just an upgrade that doesn't really improve on anything.

As far as Linux goes, only recently have I come to full terms with my switch. I made the right decision, there is no SOFTWARE that I miss, however, video card support is pathetic and that is my only gripe with Linux. I like the look and feel of Ubuntu better than XP but I must admit it is much slower.

I'm rambling...

I won't be getting Vista, but then that is not surprising considering I already switched to Mac ;)
