Since I posted about my theories of how flickr determines interestingness. I've made a few newer observations.
Groups
Some groups seem to have a direct negative effect of the interestingness of photos simply by being placed into a group. Removing the image/photo from the group(s) does not negate the negative effect of being placed into the group(s) in the first place.
I have not noticed a group providing a direct positive effect on the interestingness of a photo. While some groups have a more indirect positive effect as they generate more views, comments and favorites.

Posted by: Nathan on January 29, 2009 10:33 PMNow? Ah, now it works after restarting Firefox. Crazy fucking thing makes my typing all backwards and shit. OS is in desperate need of a reformat.
Anyway, I was saying I cannot post or read comments that drop off the main page so I can't pick a fight with your lady-master.
