Set the goof-a-tron to maximum. I have been at work for more than 4 hours now. I have taken a total of 3 calls. Many people are sitting between 20 and 50 min between calls. Many people are playing flash games online. I played Lego Soccer at another guys desk, he kicked my ass.
I'm tired, maybe I won't stay up for the new years as so far I got no solid plans. Maybe it's bordom. I am quite ready for the weekend though. I'm also running out of clean cloths so that means it's laundry weekend.
If I am too lazy to post again or come up with something to do and do not post I want to wish y'all a great new year.
Now that I've gotten into the swing of things at my job I need to find crap to do after work. Something productive for me to do or entertaining. I'm not huge on video games (not that I won't get way into one or two now and then). It's dark by the time I get home. So my options end up pretty sparce. Perhaps I should cookup some new content for the site. What I do not know yet.
Last night just before bed I managed to convert a certain spoken word show that I boot legged last January to a format that could be played back. It's just good enough to hear what the speaker is saying. I hesitate to say the name to prevent getting in trouble in case the wrong people find out. I am paranoid yes but you would be too if you knew some of the stupid crap that happens to be going on around the internet. Not to mention this is not a guy you want to piss off.
Tomorrow is New Years Eve. I have no idea what I'm doing. I got a party invite from a coworker but I doub't I will be doing that. It seems so lame to not do something but I got nothing really. At least I get paid tomorrow so I can pay the first bills of the new year.
Rum-n-coke time. The coke was compliemtns of the free soda supply at work. I also heard rum and Dr. Pepper was good from Anna who I consider a reliable source for a couple reasons one of which she seems to like her drinks and the other is that she is a German import, like my car but a person not a big hunk of metal and leather.
Today was quite slow at points. I spent over 2 hours waiting for calls and some some points were 30+ min at a time of more goofing off. It was great.
So the thought of flying to Colorado has come up as the drive is 20something hours and there are going to be some not so friendly moutainpassess that must be passed. So I must hurry up and decide what I'm gonna do. Tickets can allegedly be had for less than $200 and Its still nearly 2 months away. I will need to decide soon though before prices go up too high on the tickets.
I thought I slept decent last night but as tired as I was today I'm not so sure I slept as well as I had previously thought.
If goofing off was a major I would have had a free ride.
Today was quite slow at work. At one point I went 30min between calls I was half expecting them to send people home early again, they didn't. We were running out of ways to goof off in a scocial manner and stay at our cubes.
I'm kinda sleepy. Had strange strage dreams last night Involving frinds I haven't seen in many a year and places that haven't been like that in many a year as well.
I've done nearly nothing today. I organized some pictures. I got to use my new Compact Flash Card Reader/Writer. I've taken a shower but still am not dressed to face the public. I took a nap. I thought about going to a park and taking pictures but took the nap instead.
I still might go do something like get a CD or 2 from the CD-Game Exchange or take pictures of stuff, just to get use out of my super camera.
Tiffany reminded me, a couple days ago, that my birthday is 2 weeks away. I'm thinking about getting something together like a few/bunch of people going to dinner at the Rheinlander in Portland. I've got a streaming webcam thing going. It's not yet avaiable outside of my home network. I'm still experementing with it. As of now I'm using the windows media encoder (free from MS) to do a live broadcase of what is happening in the Planned Parenthood parking lot. I may expermient with something to do still images every so often maybe even attempt at using the winamp streaming codec and/or try to find something better to point the camera at. I am taking suggestions.
Game night tonight at 5 at Sean's place. I think tonight is going to be mostly X-box games where as most every other one it's Nintendo Game Cube or Nintendo 64. So that will be intersting as it will be all new games for game night normaly we stick to a select bunch on the Nintendo machines.
Sersiously the referer spam is getting stupid. Look at this crap.
I'm glad I don't start work until Tuesday. Tomorrow night is game night.

Spent the whole day at Tiffany's parents place. I got a web-cam that I was totaly not expecting. Now to decide what to do with it. Make a fishy cam? a Cat cam? a drive way cam? a planned parent hood parking lot cam? couch cam? emtpy den cam? fridge cam? I'm taking suggestions and recommendations.
Tiffany's Dad also asked a few questions about the server I got going here that hosts Tiffany's site and Nathan's other site. Turns out he is looking to setup a server of some soft to play with. I personaly belive everyone with a broadband connection should have a server at home of some kind in order to get to files and such. But I only know maybe 3 people including myself with such a setup. So I will most likely end up helping Tiffany's Dad set one up sometime soonish.
Tomorrow we go to Salem to vist my dad and exchange loot gifts.

My car is equipped with a 6 disc MP3 changer. I have two magazines for it I am attempting to fill the spare one with musical goodness because I have grown tired of the the current assload of music that I store in the trunk. The primary problem is the limmited space of the discs. You see I would love to have the Alpine ipod adapter. The primary problem with that being I don't have an Ipod. Another problem is I would not want to lose the use of my changer so I would need yet more hardware to do both. So until I feel like forking out an assload of money for a couple extra creature comforts (like I don't have enough already) I will have to deal with the what CDs to burn to MP3 CDs delema.
They sent me home from work early. WITH FULL DAY PAY! How cool is that!?!
So I made stop by the bank. I'm thinking about washing my car. Later today I need to get gas for the remainder of the holiday weekend activitys which turns out to include a game night at Sean's come Sunday.
Got to hang out with Cat last night. That was nice I don't see her all that often. It's always many months between visits cause we both seem to have stuff going on when the other doesn't.
I just ordered Chris his gift. It's a little late yes but he will get it. He will like it too cause he asked for it. Hell I would have liked to have had it when I could have used it.
We had a evacuation at work today. That was cool too.
Just beat The Italian Job on PS2. Not that it was a great game or anything but kinda fun. I think I might just be done with games for a little while.

So Chris stopped by and bought us dinner complents of his employer. He helped me beat Max Payne 2.
Nathan took me to work and dropped me off at the German Auto Service place and I paid for the repairs $321.00 (the same as the bhp of the current M3s) worth of parts and labor. The good news is the powersteering is fine according the German auto people they bleed it some and added some fluid. But I am very happy to have my German Auto back home already.
Work was slow. I spent more than 2 hours (total not in a single span) today waiting for calls. I suspect the rest of the week is going to be the same if not slower.
Rockstar makes some great games. I'm just getting started on Max Payne 2. I'm already hooked. I loved the frist one 3 years ago on PC. I would like this one better on PC but I have it on PS2 so I'm still a bit iffy on the controls. But damn is it fun. I've stopped to play long enough to eat something and post this.
Went to portland to pick up Tiffany's sister with Tiffany and her Parents. It was a long day. I got a free meal out of the deal so it's not all bad.
When I got home I had a ton of comment spam but it was pretty easy to nuke with my comment spam killer I made. I need to update it with more features and options cause right now it only deletes comment spam. I've got some ideas for how to enhance it to also make it a countermeasure.
I attempted to get Chris' gift but it was not to be found in Oregon I may order it for him soonish.
Nina got her oilchanged today and a looking over by the car people. They found a couple problems both leaks. One at the powersteering pump, the other (nathan will love this) the water pump. So she goes in Monday to get looked at by the German Auto place on Franklin. They suspect a about $250-$300 for the water pump and they have to check the power steering pump before they can tell as it could be something like a hose or it could be much more involved like the whole rack. Now just to figure out how I will get to and from work while they have my car. They don't think they will have it for more than a couple days.

Tomorrow I'm off at 1pm. Which means I'm gonna take off at lunch time. So really I get off at 12ish. So I have a 2.5 day weekend.
This week has gone by farily quick like which is always nice.
Might go to portland this weekend. Might not. Dunno.

So I'm hanging out in my cube at work. Workin on something and my supervisor comes by and asks if I'm on break. I say nope "project time". She asks me to come with her to her office. She asked where I want to go in the company. I didn't have much of a response I'm still just getting used to where I'm at. But I do indeed like the idea of an IT possition and thats where she would have picked for me too. She suggested a few things like certifications and perhaps taking some course using the tutiton reimbursement program to help get me there. That's all fine and dandy but I do not rellish the idea of time spent in class after work. I still don't know a whole lot about the path my supervisor would like to set me on to get me there but I think I got plenty of time to find out as I'm not even able to change possitions for the 1st 6 months of being here, not with out a lot of paperwork and crap anyways.
Apprently I have a lot of potential...
Went with Nathan after work, he got stuff to stuff his Wife's stocking with. While I have yet to figure out who I need to shop for. I'm thinking Chris and Cat, maybe, Tiffany and my parents are pretty well taken care of.
Lookout for a new mass mailing virus it sometimes shows up in a Merry Christmas e-mail. So PC users don't open the damn attachment.
Had lunch with Angi who just started at the place I work. There were a couple others at the table too one had a few questions about the job such.
I've been feeling very un-modivated and kinda bored lately. I don't think it helps I get up before sunrise, I see some day light on my way to work and then drive home with the head lights on in the rain. Sometimes I catch a glimpse of daylight through the windows from a distance while at work.
Tomorrow is payday.
Today was pretty decent day. Slept good last night. Fairly smooth sailing at work.
I've got 4 hours off on Friday to get oil changed in car. Perhaps I will get a chance to give her a good washing as well.
Tiffany bought Dogeball. It came witha an average Joe's T-shirt, it's mine.

I think I found out some of the people who are making all the comment spam possible. There is a company called adminshop with tools like linkdumper, and reffy 1.8. Link dumper is a tool that crawls stes and dumps information into forms. and Reffy fills your referer lists informtion in an attempt to boost traffic to those sites. So email, call, DDoS, write, spam them for making all that garbage show up in your comments or log files.
Got the pictures out of the way. While we were doing that I missed a call from Nathan to go X-mas shopting with him and Sean. Coulda been fun then again I coulda sucked.

I've added archive pages to my tracking system so know I can findout more about where people are coming from to see this crap. So far I got a google hit for bigass. I may have to start tuning my tracking system to show what page people are getting to cut down on the work I have to do to find out what they have found.
So far the only gift my dad has requested from me for Christmas is a picture of me to go next to the ones of the other sibling and step siblings. Mine is quite late as I never had senior pictures and all of the pictures that mine would go next to are infact senior pictures. I've always been camera shy to say the least, and by shy I mean often take drastic action to avoid being in pictures. Sometimes it's just a matter of putting my hand up a split second before the shutter snaps or turning around as I see a camera pointed in my direction to the out and out hiding from business end of the lense. So now I must sit, pose and otherwise help to ensure we get a good picture of me to print 8x10 (i think) in black and white to go up on the wall next to the others. This will most likely be happening tomorrow.
Tiffany is out with her parents. They are shoping for a 5thwheel. Well kinda shoping they are just getting a feel for what is out there and how much what is out there costs. They want one for traveling about country in the winter months after her dad retires I assume.
Hopefuly I can get a few hours off on Friday because I have an oil change appointment at 1.
It is weekend. This is good.
2 days to not work. 2 days to sleep in. 2 nights to stay up late. 2 days to go as far away from home as possible or stay as close to the couch as you want. 2 days to work on the house or 2 days to get away from the house. 2 Nights to party or to nights to stay in with someone. 2 days that even if spent doing nothing is ok because it's your weekend and your 2 days and 2 nights. It doesn't belong to work, it doesn't belong to anybody but you*.

So I got to escalate a customer today. An escalation isn't a big deal here but it does mean time and resources of higherups will be spent dealing with the escalated one. He escalated because he didn't feel a download was going fast enough and there was nothing I could do for him. This pissed me off pretty good.
Then I get home and there was another UPS sticker. This time 2 packages. This means they tried to deliver my package from yesterday again even though I attempted to tell them to hold it for pickup today. So I told them to hold the packages again and called. Then a little while later got a call saying we could come pick them up. I had attempted to pick the package up after work but would have failed for a couple reasons the frist of them is that the map to there location from yahoo was really wrong. The second is their supposed biz hours were done at 5:30. But they called and had the packages so we got them. Tiff has her present and I have another beta for the PS2.
But tomorrow is Friday. Thats a good thing.
UPS is a pain. They are very good at not delivering packages. Signature required and you have to wait for a few attempted deliverys before pickup but with some of the other major delivery people you can pick up first day. Not to mention there crapy bankers hours so that a pickup for people with a 8-5 job like me will have trouble making a pickup after work. F-UPS.
Should I not be able to sign something saying leave the damn package even if it is signature required and if it's not here or where you said it was it's my damn problem and I won't sue the big brown or who ever sent the damn item in question.
So now if I get out of work ontime I have to find my way to the mysterious UPS office and pray I make it before 5:30pm (closing time). Which might be pushing it cause I don't get home until around 5:20pm when I do get off work on time. But I enjoy a challenge now and then so we will see what happens.
Show me yours. I'm looking for more excuses to use my sexy Digital Rebel or at least use more bandwidth on pictures. The project hasn't taken off like I had orignaly planned but I haven't given up hope. Maybe if I can get some external linkage and more participation leading to more linkage and participation and so on.
The murray cat was going crazy this morning after I woke up to use the facility. I didn't get to sleep again because of the over stimulated crackhead of a cat. But he is cute and cuddeling up to me as I type. So I'm kinda tired. I skipped on an invite to go to Tiffany's work and help with the x-mas decoration party thingy cause I'm lazy and tried. I got home and the phone rang with one of her co-workers asking if I was going to show. I almost kinda sorta feel bad for not going now.
I just hope for a good nights sleep tonight.
Didn't get to sleep til much later than I wanted to last night. Just couldn't sleep and didn't sleep as well as I would like to have. So I just wasn't feeling it today at work. Maybe the nap yesterday wasn't such a good idea.
The lady who sits next to Nathan is a bitch. Maybe I will do something bad to her desk or car sometime. But then again that would be work and something I could get at the veryleast in trouble maybe fired or arrested depending on what exactly I do. Stupid bitch lady.

I'd like to thank Tom he has always been there to help me wether it was learning out to overclock back in 98/99 or figuring out who makes the best video card at any given time. This time he told me how to slip stream a XPSP2 install.
He also helped me kill some time while Tiffany's cousin and her boyfriend Merlin were over. That and many episodes of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, SeaLab 2021, The Simpsons.
I'm still tring to think of things to do with that dell. I'm also thinking about seeting up my sony laptop as a machine to just watch wireless traffic and see what the neighbors are looking at...
I don't think I will be getting a frame out of that laptop. The displaycard is slightly underpowered. It can do 800x600 but only with 256 colors. The only way it will do "hi-color" is in 640x480 which is not the native resolution for the screen so it looks like butt. So I must find another task for the laptop.
I took a nap from like 1:30 til around 3:30 Caleb(Tiffany's cat) decided to join me for it too. I had strange dreams of my old at wafter world and operating what seemed to be a spec sink but only it wasn't where the spec sinks where located and it moved the wafers in diffrent way. I'm mostly glad it was just a dream because I didn't enjoy working there much. It's the stuff bad dreams are made of cause I still have them about that place.
I think I/we need to start getting out of town on the weekends more. By out of town I mean something as simple as a day trip to use my new camera and get the hell out of Eugene for a few hours to do something fun, interesteing, perhaps even educational. This may have to wait a few more weekends as we are in the midst of the holidays and money must be spent on gifts, traffic violations, and bills.
I got a hold of a Pentium 133 Mhz laptop today. The challenge is to make it into a picture frame. It's less than half the machine my prototype picture frame is and almost double the thickness. It lacks usb and the drive is a wopping 1 Gig. If I start to feel ambitious/active I may start on the software end of things tonight.
What I would like to get is 2-4 identical/simialr laptops and make something of a photo cube. That would be quite costly and I most likely wouldn't have all the skill needed to pull it off right...

For some reason that is beyond me right now it just will not allow me to post any kind of link to that image. I even went as far to try a tinyurl but that too fails. But other links work fine. Right now I wonder if MT is attempting to open that URL and then bumps into the hugeness of the picture and has a problem. The damn thinig is more than 1 meg compressed but once you get it open it takes up a bit more. Photoshop said it's 24megs when open/inuse in photoshop. I'm gonna make a smaller one and try that... hold on... waiting for photoshop... ok there we go... resizing... bam. now to test... seems to work yay... Very strange quirk. It only took me like a day to figure it out...
I would like to register a complaint with last night and today. I thought I slept good I apparently didn't and everyone else at work was a bit tired and otherwise a bit off today as well. I think last night was defectvie thus breaking today. But its ok cause it's Friday. It's now play time.
So I'm on my way home and I get stuck behind a bus. The bus is turning, I'm not the bus of course takes it's damn time turning the corner so I step on it after putting it in sport mode to get through the light while it's still yellow. A couple blocks later I notice a blue flashing in my mirror. I tense up and nearly panic until I realize it's someone on a bike with a flashing LED head light. I'm glad it was but I was annoyed by the flashing headlight on the bike.

Delt with some tards at work today. Some lady got all huffy when I recommened she get a consultant after she admited to having little to no technical knowledge and not being able to answer questions like what operating system are you using for your server. Then she suggested I get some personality and laugh more while on the phone. Thank you for the suggestion mam but I have plenty of personality but I don't find it funny when people do not know the basics of the enviroment or tring to do a job that one is seriously underqualified to even think about doing.
I can't decide if I'm gonna to a LAN party this weekend or not. Cause it would be a pain in the ass to pack up my box and a monitor then find my way to the crazy import's house and install games to play as I have no games installed on my box now.

Chris just called asking me to find a chinese delivery place so that he can have food show up once he gets here as he is on his way down from Portland as I type this entry. I did find one. We disssused the menu I ordered and gave his credit card number. So that should show up around 8:30...
GTA SA has lots of small hard thigs to do to get to 100% like races, tagging things, abulance missions, firetruck missions etc. I've nearly got all the races beat.
