I went to the HD broadcast Doctor Atomic last night at the theater. Yes an Opera about the Manhattan Project. When I was a kid I had a fascination with the first bombs dropped on Japan and events leading up to it. I really enjoyed it.
Weekend
My extended weekend was a good weekend. Caught a late showing of Quantum of Solace on Friday night with Kala, Chris and Jana. Saturday eventually got the motivation to get out and enjoy the weather. We went to Mt. Tabor and walked around. Then later Kala and I got dropped off to watch the ufc fight and have some drinks. Sunday we met up with one of Kala friends for a bit and then wondered around Portland for a few hours. Monday I dropped her off at the airport and raced her home, me to home in Eugene, her to the airport in Sacramento. I won but only by about 10 or so min.
Yesterday was back to the grind at work.
Today I was attacked by an odwalla drink and had to go home and change. That kinda sucked.
Also tonight Dr. Atomic is showing at the theater and I may go watch it tonight.
I also need to do laundry soon... stupid odwalla.
I've found a wonderful combination of a tea and music that seems to put me in pretty good spirits. Which is great for those mornings on days that end in y that involve work. Though the combination may not do a damn thing for anyone else and I use it sparingly as I like to keep my tolerances for things like caffeine nice and low so when I do need it I don't need a ton...
I'm ready for an extended weekend. But I will have to wait until next week but I will have a 4 day weekend and a four day work week next week and the week after. Also as lame as it may be it is no coincidence that next week is also the opening of Quantum of Solace...
Then in December Chris and I are gonna head out to Annapolis for a handful of days to visit Catherine. Which will be my second time in the eastern time zone. I plan on packing up most of my camera stuff and playing photographer again. Hopefully I won't freeze too much.
I turned the channel at the moment that they announced Barak Obama had won the election. I felt relief, I wouldn't have to get drunk to go to bed, I no longer had the urge to obtain a Canadian Passport and hide out someplace. I'm not saying hes gonna be the best ever but he will be better than the one we had for the last eight years.
In other news. I have a flat tire that I need to deal with sometime today. I'm glad they are run flats but its still a pain to go deal with it.
