Taking the Train. Kala and I may be on a train heading south later this week. I haven't ridden on Train for an extended duration in more than a decade, to me an extended duration is more than 6 hours.

My last extended rides were around late summer/early fall 1996 when my Dad and Step Mom packed up all 5 kids and headed to LA for a trip to Disney land. 36 hours on the train from Salem to LA. I Slept in the luggage rack on the way down. Under a seat on the way home. I don't know that you could call either sleeping. On the return trip I actually lost track of space and time and thought I just existed on the damn train. Fun fact I almost got sent home on a bus from that same trip because of my bad attitude and smart mouth.

With any luck this time it will only be about 13 hours to Sacramento, and perhaps a bit more sleep than my last long train ride. Though I do wish the circumstances were different for this trip.

Coast on Friday. Kala and I will be heading to the coast sometime Friday afternoon after we recover from the midnight showing of Iron Man 2. We will be meeting up with Chris and Jana and a most of their wedding party, of which somehow I am the Best Man.

I plan to make another time lapse video if I can find a decent spot to stash my small camera for the better part of a day. I also plan to take some time and do some shooting this weekend, if that is the standard beach kinda stuff or just the people this weekend will kind of depend on what ends up going on, and weather. But all and all it should be a good weekend.
